Another major company has decided to move their headquarters to the Charlotte area.
Motion solutions manufacturer Columbus McKinnon just announced plans to move their corporate headquarters from Upstate New York to Charlotte, the same week the ACC made a similar announcement.
Columbus McKinnon CEO David Wilson said the shift to North Carolina will put their headquarters closer to the majority of their customers, manufacturing facilities, and employees (they currently employ about 3,400 people).
Wilson said the move to North Carolina will bring Columbus McKinnon’s headquarters closer to where the company has a higher concentration of employees, manufacturing facilities and customers. The company aims to grow its sales to $1.5 billion within five years — compared to $650 million in fiscal 2021 — and that kind of growth would benefit all of its operations, Wilson said.
